I am heading out to the REAL Solutions’ Low-Wealth Institute in Pittsburgh. What an exciting opportunity to explore new ways to reach out and serve those of modest income. Our program is packed full of dynamic speakers who are anxious to share with participants their experiences and the benefits of serving these new markets.
The icing on this very sweet cake is our visit to the Manchester Guild. This development organization has provided education and skills training to poor families to assist them up a path to financial success. They have created a top-notch learning environment with beautiful art, decor and state of the art classrooms. Over a working lunch, Manchester Guild students will share their dreams and their experiences of how Manchester has helped them reach their goals and financial aspirations.
To pique our curiosity, we have a payday lender who is going to share his experience in the payday lending marketplace. This added to a plethora of nationally renowned speakers, including our own Bob Hoel and credit union leadership from across the country, who will make this program a resounding success. We invite you to continue to visit our website to learn more about the Institute and how you and your credit union can learn more.

Kudos Lois! The REAL Solutions Low-Wealth Institute was terrific. The visit to the Manchester Guild was inspirational. Bill Stickland has created hope and opportunity for thousands of poor and low-income folks.
The Institute not only left attendees inspired to increase their efforts in serving low-wealth households, it also provided in-depth operational and procedural information from check-cashing services, to pay-day loans and effective outreach practices to new Americans.
Pittsburgh proved to be a perfect venue. Thanks Lois for bringing together 22 speakers passionate about the credit union movement and its social mission.

Have attempted to email Lois with information about a education resouce we discussed. Was an attendee at the San Francisco Reaching Out Conference. All emails are bouncing back as undeliverable.
