Sarah Skwirut, Membership Manager, engages members through Filene’s many outreach efforts, including special events. Her background in experiential education and group facilitation allows her to activate Filene’s research and empower people in the credit union industry to think forward and change lives.
Early in her career, Sarah sought out organizations that prioritized helping people. Whether this was supporting struggling youth by providing trauma-informed care at a wilderness immersion program or advocating for environmental justice and conservation work, Sarah exemplifies the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.”
Sarah will be the first to tell you she is most herself outside. You can find her camping, paddling, or hiking with her dog, Freddie. Sarah graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in Conservation and Environmental Studies and completed her master’s degree in strategic public relations from The George Washington University in the spring of 2022.
