The credit union movement was built on a simple but enduring idea: people helping people. That principle doesn't stop at financial well-being, it extends to every person who walks through our doors, joins our teams, and shapes our culture.
Pride Month gives us a moment to pause and recommit to that idea. It's a celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community and a recognition that truly serving our members starts with creating workplaces where every employee feels seen, valued, and empowered to bring their full self to work.
Progress has been made, and there is meaningful work still ahead. For credit union leaders, this is an opportunity to move beyond acknowledgment and into action: building cultures of belonging that are felt every day, not just in June.
Credit unions didn't just happen to become community institutions, they were built that way, by people who believed no one should be left out. Pride Month is a reminder that this work is never finished, and that the most powerful thing we can do is keep showing up for each other.
